Meghan Markle Returns to One Young World Summit 3 Years Later

Meghan Markle made a special appearance at the One Young World Summit on Tuesday. Following her whirlwind tour of Southern Africa earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex attended the opening ceremony for the charity's annual summit at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Rewearing her purple Aritzia dress, Meghan looked stunning as she made her way into the event. Later this week, Meghan will also hold a round-table discussion with various OYW young leaders to "address the issue of gender equity worldwide, and how we can all play our part to reach equality for all."

Long before becoming a member of the royal family, Meghan served as a counsellor at the 2014 One Young World Summit in Dublin, Ireland, and the 2016 One Young World Summit in Ottawa, Canada. During her appearance in 2014, the former actress spoke up about gender inequality as she called out the Suits creator for continuously writing scenes where her character was half-dressed.

According to a friend, "It was very difficult for Meghan to close the chapter on her previous passions, so she's been so excited to be able to join One Young World again this year in London. Inspiring young people is so important to her and she's been able to tie her Vice-Presidency of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust into a really impactful program with One Young World, a charity that has been dear to her heart for more than five years."
