You'll Love Seeing Princess Charlotte's Debut Side by Side With George's

Princess Charlotte made her long-awaited debut on May 2, less than two years after her older brother, Prince George, was born. The baby girl's arrival was met with excitement around the world and even more flashbulbs as she made her first appearance just hours after her birth. Like with Prince George, Kate Middleton and Prince William introduced their daughter to waiting crowds outside of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London. The entire event, from Kate going into labor to the official birth announcement and the initial reveal, was so similar to George's that we had to look at both royal babies' arrivals side by side. Start reading to see all the similarities and a few differences between George's and Charlotte's big debuts.

There was similar anticipation waiting for Charlotte to make her debut in May 2015, though her first appearance came just hours after her birth that same morning.

Once again, Amanda Cook Tucker visited the hospital hours after Kate gave birth to get her photo ready. This time, the duchess went with a bouncier, curlier look.

Charlotte, whose name was also not revealed until days after her birth, was covered in a similar — perhaps the same — blanket by GH Hurt and Son Ltd. for her debut and wore a knit hat to keep her warm in the cooler May weather.

Kate and William both greeted the crowds with big smiles and waves. They spent noticeably less time in front of the cameras with their baby girl than they had with George, though that could have been due to the cooler temperatures.

Despite practicing beforehand, William fumbled a bit putting the car seat into the car, though the moment was met with encouraging laughter from the crowds. Later, the couple was criticized for leaving George in a swaddle while buckling him into his seat, which is considered a no-no.

Reporters, photographers, and fans alike had been gathered for weeks waiting for news of the first royal baby's arrival, and they cheered loudly upon the family's exit from the hospital, where Will and Kate answered a few questions, saying "it's very emotional."

Just hours after his daughter's birth, William left the hospital to go back to Kensington Palace and pick up George. George made his way into the Lindo Wing to meet his baby sister with a wave that had the crowds going wild. The grandparents and Kate's sister, Pippa, met Charlotte the next day at Kensington Palace.
