Taylor Swift Steps Out in Short Shorts Before Her Big Met Gala Gig

Taylor Swift stepped out to grab lunch with pal Lily Aldridge in Beverly Hills on Thursday, showing off her long legs in a pair of black shorts (and a matching t-shirt that really set off her new bleach-blond hair). The pair walked side by side down the street, and Taylor clutched her Rebecca Minkoff bag on her hip, also accessorizing with a pair of mirrored Ray-Bans. Both ladies are likely soaking up the sunny LA weather before heading to the East Coast for Monday's Met Gala; Taylor is serving as cochair for the annual event, along with Idris Elba and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, while Lily is a veteran of the famed red carpet staircase. Later that evening, both Lily and Taylor attended pal Gigi Hadid's star-studded birthday bash at The Nice Guy in Hollywood.

Lily and Taylor have been spending quite a lot of quality time together lately, including a night out with mom-to-be Behati Prinsloo and a day at Disneyland with Lily's 3-year-old daughter, Dixie Followill. Taylor touched on the backlash facing her famous friendships in an interview with Vogue this month, saying, "If the rumor is that you have fake friendships, all you have to do is continue to be there for each other. And when we're all friends in fifteen years and raising our kids together, maybe somebody will look back and go, 'That was kind of ridiculous what we said about Taylor and her friends.'"
