6 Things You Need to Know About Sterling K. Brown Before He Skyrockets to Superstardom

Aside from his starring role in American Crime Story, the actor has also appeared in a handful of hit shows including Army Wives, NCIS, Person of Interest, and Supernatural. He was also in Tina Fey's war comedy earlier this year, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

According to TV Guide, Sterling and actress Ryan Michelle Bathe were born in the same St. Louis hospital, but didn't actually meet until they attended Stanford University. The pair tied the knot in 2007, and together they have two sons. They even appeared on screen together during season six of Army Wives.

Sterling earned a B.A. in drama at Stanford University, and eventually received his master's degree in fine arts from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

During an interview with Glamour, Sterling revealed that he actually reached out to the famous prosecutor during production for American Crime Story. Not only did he try to add him on Facebook, but he also called his cell phone. "He texted me back 20 minutes later, but I was asleep," he explained. "He said, 'What's up? Who's this?' So I sent him a text telling him who I am, and then [there was] no response."

After the Emmys, Chris told ET that he was "very happy" about Sterling's win. He even added that he's ready to talk with the actor, as long as it's "during the daylight hours."

In the same Glamour interview, Sterling couldn't help but gush over his costar. "My talent crush on Sarah began with Game Change and Studio 60 [on the Sunset Strip], Jack and Jill, American Horror Story — this woman is a beast," he told the magazine. The actor even gave her a shout-out during his Emmys acceptance speech.
