Taylor Swift Confirms New Music Is Coming as She Unveils a Mural Hidden With Clues

Taylor Swift is finally giving us an update on that mysterious April 26 countdown. On the eve of her big announcement, the "Delicate" singer made a surprise appearance in Nashville as she unveiled a wall mural created by artist Kelsey Montague. Wearing a butterfly crop set and pink hair, Taylor delighted fans by taking a number of selfies and making another big announcement: new music is coming and the mural is riddled with hidden clues. You know what that means, Swifties; it's time to put on our investigator hats and get to business!

The wall mural features two butterfly wings with tons of colorful imagery featuring hearts, rainbows, flowers, and cats. Over the past week, Taylor has made many references to the things featured in the mural through her cryptic Instagram posts. There has also been a lot of speculation that Taylor's new album will be all about metamorphosis as she "sheds her skin," so to speak, and moves into the next chapter of her career. Perhaps the wings symbolize the theme of the new album and the images represent all the songs.

In between the wings, there is also writing that reads "ME!" in all caps. It's possible this could be a clue about the album title or even the album title itself. In her sixth album, Reputation, Taylor spent most of the time putting the old Taylor to rest and reflecting on how the media portrayed her over the years. Maybe she's using this next album as an opportunity to finally show us her true self. It would definitely make for a full-circle moment, seeing as this year is the 13th anniversary of Taylor's debut album, which also featured butterfly imagery through.
