In a joint interview with V magazine, the couple recalled how they met when they were both on tour with Austin Mahone. Cabello was still in Fifth Harmony at the time. "I remember I wanted to hang out with you, but you were always on the tour bus, just learning guitar," she said.

"Yeah, that was me. I didn't talk to anybody," Mendes said. "You were the only person that talked to me. Like, you were the only one of everybody on that tour who would say words to me. Actually, I think if we go into our DMs or something, there's a photo from the day we met, I think."

2022: Camila Cabello Releases "Bam Bam" With Ed Sheeran

Four months after her breakup from Mendes, Cabello released the music video for her duet with Ed Sheeran titled "Bam Bam." Many fans speculated that the track was about Mendes.
