10 Bachelor Couples Who Broke Up Before the Final Rose Even Wilted

If we're honest, we know that The Bachelor isn't necessarily a path to true and lasting love, but which Bachelor couples broke up the quickest? The majority of the show's couples do eventually break up, and in the whole history of the show, only one Bachelor has actually ended up married to the woman he chose at the final rose ceremony. Out of those breakups, though, there are a handful that were surprising in just how fast the relationships ended, with a few only managing to last for weeks or even days! We're revisiting the shortest-lived Bachelor couples in history — see who set the record for the shortest relationship and who else barely made it past filming or finales.

After breaking up with his initial winner, Hannah Ann Sluss, Peter admitted to still having feelings for Madison, which she apparently reciprocated at a meeting that happened while the show was airing. They said they were in love with each other on the "After the Final Rose" special, but then set a Bachelor record for the fastest breakup ever: only two days after the show!

Peter managed to come out of his season with not one, but two short-lived failed relationships. He got engaged to Hannah Ann at the end of the show, but according to Hannah Ann herself, their relationship hit the rocks within a couple of months, coming to an end in early February, a few months after their engagement.

Before there was Peter, there was Arie. Only a couple of months after their engagement — just as their season was starting to air, in fact — he ended his relationship with winner and fiancee Becca, instead choosing to pursue runner-up Lauren Burnham. The breakup, filmed in excrutiating detail, was one of the most controversial finales ever, but it seems like it all worked out for the best: Arie and Lauren are now married and have a daughter, while Becca became the next Bachelorette and is engaged to her final choice, Garrett Yrigoyen.

Chris and Whitney seemed pretty happy together following the airing of their season in 2015, and Whitney showed up to cheer Chris on during his Dancing with the Stars stint that Spring. By the end of May, though, they'd called it quits.

Ben shocked everyone by proposing to the "villain" of his season, Courtney. They broke up during the airing of their season, in February 2012, then reunited, only to break up again in the Fall of the same year.

Brad and Emily actually broke up twice within a pretty short period of time. While their season was airing in the first 3 months of 2011, they reportedy broke up, then got back together before the live finale. The second try didn't last long either, and they broke up by May.

Travis didn't propose to Sarah, but instead chose to simply continue dating after filming ended. Within a week of the finale airing in Feb. 2006, though, they admitted that they had broken up in the gap between the end of filming and the actual airing of the show.
