Taylor Zakhar Perez returns as Marco for The Kissing Booth 3, and we couldn't be more excited to see his face back on our TV screens. The 29-year-old actor first appeared in the Netflix franchise in the second film as the cute new guy at school who Lee and Elle work to secure for their latest edition of the kissing booth. Since then, the actor and his character have become favorites among fans. Sorry, Noah, we're definitely Team Marco. He Started His Career in Modeling and Musical Theater
Before he pursued his acting career in Los Angeles, Perez started out in the industry by modeling and performing in community theater while growing up in Indiana.
He's Had Guest-Starring Roles on Scandal and Young & Hungry
After working in modeling and community theater in the Midwest, Taylor headed to Los Angeles to attend UCLA. While playing Marco in The Kissing Booth 2 was his first starring role, he's had a few guest-starring spots on Young & Hungry (opposite Hannah Montana star Emily Osment), the limited series Embeds, CBS' Code Black series, and Scandal.
Just Like Marco, Taylor Really Can Sing
While a voice double was used in the film for Marco's singing scenes, Perez actually grew up singing in musical theater. In an interview with POPSUGAR, the actor revealed that he learned how to play guitar for the role. "I practiced my butt off," he said. "Looking at those strings, I was very confused the first couple of weeks. And then it just kind of became like muscle memory."
He Was on a Nationally Ranked Swim Team
Before jumping into acting, Perez was an accomplished swimmer, competing throughout high school and even landing a scholarship for swimming at Fordham (which he turned down to focus on acting!).
He Has an Adorable Dog Named Jack
