Woody Harrelson Brings His Family to His "Champions" Movie Premiere

Woody Harrelson turned his "Champions" movie premiere into a family affair on Monday night. The actor — who hosted "Saturday Night Live" for the fifth time over the weekend — was joined by his wife, Laura Louie, and two of their children, daughters Zoe and Deni Harrelson. Noticeably missing was their third daughter, Makani Harrelson.

Woody and Louie's love story dates all the way back to the late '80s. The couple first met on the set of "Cheers" in 1987, and the actor hired Louie to be his personal assistant the following day. "At some point, I was like, 'Hey, does anybody here have secretarial skills? 'Cause I could really use an assistant.' And this young woman, Laura Louie, raised her hand," Harrelson previously told The Hollywood Reporter (via People) "I asked her to come down 'cause she was up in the stands. So she came down, and I said, 'We'll meet tomorrow. Come out to my place in Marina del Rey.'"

Louie worked for Woody for three years before they began dating, and they eventually tied the knot in 2008. "I never believed in the concept of [marriage]. I just never believed that it made any sense, this long-term monogamy thing that humans do," Woody, who was previously married to Nancy Simon, told THR (via Today). "I just was incapable of long-term relationships. I was with whoever would have me. Then I met my wife."

Now the couple are a family of five with their three daughters. Learn more about Deni, Zoe, and Makani ahead.

Deni Montana Harrelson

Woody and Louie welcomed their first child together, Deni, on March 5, 1994, per People. The actor opened up about how fatherhood changed his life in an interview with Esquire in 2008, saying, "I remember my daughter Deni coming along, and she was so pure and caring of everybody and everything. And somehow, this little being managed to get around all the obstacles — the gun turrets, the walls, the moats, the sentries — that were wrapped around my heart. My heart at that time needed her."

Unlike her famous dad, Deni leads a private life, so not much is known about her. However, she does accompany her father to red carpet events every so often.

Zoe is Woody and Louie's second child, who was born on Sept. 22, 1996. Similar to Deni, Zoe is not in the spotlight. However, she did star in U2's 2015 "Song For Someone" video alongside her dad.

Woody previously told InStyle (via HuffPost) that he and Louie homeschooled Deni and Zoe during their early years, and he regrets not being home more when they were growing up. "I have a few regrets, but my primary one is that I feel like I'm away from home too much and not getting enough time with the kids," he said. "We used to homeschool the first two, which I guess is another way of saying that we didn't worry about their education. I always feel like they learn more by just hanging with me and going places. But no, they eventually wanted to go to school, and that really put a big wedge between our, you know, hang time."

Makani Ravello Harrelson

Born on June 3, 2006, Makani is Louie and Woody's youngest daughter. The couple announced Makani's arrival in a statement to People, saying, "In this crazy patriarchal world we live in, we are doing our part to balance the energy. We are proud to announce the completion of our goddess trilogy with the birth of our third daughter, Makani Ravello, born on June 3rd."

From the looks of it, it seems like Makani is following in her dad's acting footsteps. In 2016, she made an appearance in "LBJ," which she followed up with a role in 2017's "Lost in London."
