Peet previously dated Ben Stiller for a few months in 1998, per E! News. Although things didn't work out between them romantically, the pair remained good friends. In 2005, the duo starred in an off-Broadway production of "This Is How It Goes" together. When the project premiered, they posed for photos together at an afterparty celebrating the play's debut. That same year, Peet also attended an A.L.S. Benefit Gala honoring Stiller and snapped photos with him and his wife, Christine Taylor.
