Born in August 1970, Brian Gunn also took an interest in film like his older brother James. In 1988, he graduated from St. Louis University High School and went on to become a screenwriter. He is credited with writing "Bring It On Again," "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," and most recently, the 2019 horror film, "Brightburn." Brian worked with James on "Brightburn," and told rhe LA Times that his childhood memories with his brother inspired the film. "I can remember when I was a little kid, James getting out the old Super 8 camera and filming us in zombie makeup with fake blood and fake entrails coming out of our guts ... We were, in a sense, making horror movies together back from the time I can barely remember. And so it was really cool to see that come full circle and do that professionally," he explained.
