Sean Gunn was born in May 1974, and graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1992. After high school, Gunn attended the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago and graduated in 1996, per Backstage. He landed minor acting roles in the late 1990s, and by the year 2000, he was starring as Kirk Gleason on the beloved WB show, "Gilmore Girls." His character was recurring on the series throughout its tenure. After a number of acting gigs in film and television, Gunn was cast as Kraglin Obfonteri in his brother's 2014 film "Guardians of the Galaxy" and has since reprised the role in each installment of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" film franchise, as well as films like "Avengers: Endgame" and "Thor: Love and Thunder."
Gunn recently praised his brother James in an interview with Variety following the news that James was named as co-chairman and chief executive officer of DC Studios. The actor shared, "I don't tend to get too surprised by what happens with my brother ... There was a moment of like, 'Holy sh*t,' but he's cut out for it. He's built for it. He works as hard as anyone I've ever known. He eats, sleeps, and this stuff, and he's good at it, and he loves telling stories. ...Yeah, I was surprised for a second, but I was like 'That's you, man. You've got it.'"
