According to Entertainment Tonight, Swift and Blake Lively were first publicly spotted together in 2015, and their friendship has been blossoming ever since. In 2016, Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, attended Swift's Fourth of July party, and they've frequently interacted and supported one another on social media — but their friendship hasn't stopped there.

The track "Gorgeous" from Swift's 2017 album, "Reputation," features the voice of Lively and Reynolds's daughter James, and throughout her 2020 "Folklore" album, Swift included the names of Lively's children James, Inez, and Betty, per People. In 2021, Lively made her directorial debut and directed the music video for Swift's "I Bet You Think About Me."
