Stanfield and Roquemore were first linked in 2015. They began stepping out for red carpet events together in August of that year, making their debut red carpet appearance at the "Straight Outta Compton" premiere.
They welcomed a daughter in June 2017. At the time, E! News reported that Roquemore tweeted then deleted a picture of herself breastfeeding, captioning the post, "Mom."
In June 2023, Stanfield reflected on being a father by sharing a very rare photo of the backs of his children, one seemingly being the daughter he shares with Roquemore.
"Kids force you to experience everything all over again. When I look into their eyes, I see infinite untapped potential. Their openness can remind us how we sometimes take ourselves seriously and let the small things bother us," he wrote. "That candor reminds us that it's all just music. They make me laugh those hearty laughs that come straight from the gut and force me to stay on my Ps and Qs to ensure that what I impart to them I also stand by. I remember growing up feeling like something was missing. I love being someone to talk to, and I love being someone to rest on."
"I love being someone to ask a million questions to. I love how they love my music. I love the giddy and sometimes embarrassing feeling of being on billboards and seeing the wonder/confusion in their eyes," he added. "I love dressing up and dressing them up, too. I love the drive to school. I love the feeling of a clean, fresh diaper change. I love the hard times with broccoli and its cousins. I love being here. I love being a dad."
It's unclear when the two split, but it seems it was sometime in 2020.
