Us Weekly first reported in August 2013 that Long and Seyfried were seeing each other. "Justin is super private about his relationships, [so] I'm not positive how they exactly met, but they've known each other for awhile, when they were seeing other people," a source shared with the publication at the time. "They recently started hanging out more, going on date-like activities. They're both busy … but they're seeing where it goes."
Like his relationship with Barrymore, he and Seyfried had a "similar sense of humor," a second source added.
In May 2015, Seyfried spoke to Vogue about how Instagram first connected her and Long. "I followed him on Instagram," she said. "And I thought something he said was really funny. It was a beautiful picture of a snail, and the caption said, 'F—king MOOOOOOOOVE.' It made me laugh out loud, so I texted him."
During their time together, Long and Seyfried stepped out publicly together on numerous occasions until they split in the fall of September 2015. According to Us Weekly, Long was "really heartbroken" over the breakup.
