Tiffany Haddish wants you to know she's ready to effect some change. During Sunday night's People's Choice Awards, Tiffany was crowned the female movie star of 2020 and used her speech as an opportunity to bring awareness to the turmoil in Africa. She first thanked her fans, saying, "I want to give a shout-out to anybody who was going through depression or stress this year . . . And then you turn on something with Tiffany Haddish and you were like, 'Yes, I feel better.' Yes b*tch, that was for you."

Tiffany then turned her attention toward those struggling in Africa, referencing the #EndSARS movement in Nigeria, the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon, and the conflict among Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti. "If you're out there struggling, I'm praying for you and I hope that all my fans pray for Africa, too, because we shouldn't have to be going through the things we're going through."
