Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott Are Engaged: "Forever Starts Now!"

Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott are officially tying the knot! The couple confirmed the news on Aug. 14 via joint Instagram posts, which feature Deschanel prominently showing off her beautiful and unconventional ring. "Forever starts now!!! 🥰♾️🥰," they wrote in the caption.

Scott proposed to Deschanel on Aug. 13 during a trip to Scotland, per People. According to the outlet, Deschanel's two children, Elsie and Charlie, were also reportedly included in the proposal. Reps for Deschanel and Scott did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment.

Deschanel and Scott, who stars in "Property Brothers," met in 2019 while filming an episode of James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke." The couple made things official later that year, and Scott celebrated their four-year anniversary on Aug. 4 with a sweet Instagram post. "500 days of @zooeydeschanel . . . actually it's been a lot more, but who's counting anyway? 😆 4 years really flies by. Happy anniversary baby!!!" he wrote. That same day, Deschanel celebrated their four-year anniversary with another affectionate post. "4 years since I met this freaking dreamboat. I love him more every day. I'm forever grateful!" she wrote.

Deschanel split from her previous husband of four years, Jacob Pechenik, in 2019, and she and Pechenik share 8-year-old Elsie and 6-year-old Charlie, per People. Prior to that, Deschanel was married to Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard from 2009 to 2012. Meanwhile, Scott was previously married to flight coordinator Kelsy Ully from 2007 to 2010.
