Grey's Anatomy Relationship Update: Who Broke Up in the Finale?

April and Jackson never really recover from the loss of their son, and a year apart only puts more distance between them (literally and figuratively). When April confesses to Jackson that she wants to do another tour, Jackson gives her an ultimatum — if she leaves, they're done. Their breakup isn't confirmed in the finale, but sadly this relationship might be beyond repair.

It's always been a bumpy road for Alex and Jo, and Alex's promotion to Meredith's "person" has only made things tougher. However, when Mere asks if she can move back into the old house, it forces Jo and Alex to really evaluate where their relationship stands. It's good news: not only do they decide to get a place of their own, but they also drop the L-bomb for the first time.

No Grey's Anatomy wedding has ever come easily, and that includes the long-coming nuptials of Richard and Catherine. They come superclose to calling the whole thing off, but after a kick in the pants from Meredith (and a lot of negotiation), they make it official.

Obviously Meredith and Maggie aren't involved in a romantic relationship, but their family bond is getting a lot stronger. With Derek gone, Meredith needs family more than ever, and she even gives Maggie a shoulder to cry on when Maggie learns her parents are divorcing.

If there's one tiny silver lining for Amelia in Derek's death, it's that it may bring her and Owen back together. In the finale, Owen gives Amelia support in a very important moment — when she listens to Derek's last voicemail to Meredith — and their charged interaction proves there is definitely still a chance for these two.
