Luce doesn't hit theaters until Aug. 2, but it's already drumming up plenty of buzz. Now that we've seen the stressful trailer for the upcoming thriller, we know why.
The film follows an all-star high school athlete and student named Luce (It Comes at Night's Kelvin Harrison Jr.) who was adopted from a war-torn country a decade earlier by his parents (Naomi Watts and Tim Roth). Despite his good grades and stellar reputation, one of his teachers (Octavia Spencer) seems to have it out for him. What follows is a psychological cat and mouse game that begs the question: is Luce the victim of a dangerous case of stereotyping, or is there something sinister behind his seemingly innocent facade?
