5 Things You Need to Remember Before Mad Men Comes Back

Throughout the first half of the season, Don's work life is in various stages of crises. The first episode of season seven revealed that he was sending Freddy Rumsen to work while he was suspended, then he finagles his way back into the SCDP office, but he's essentially on probation, with his hands tied in a lot of ways. Finally, in the finale for the first half of the season, it seems that Don is finally getting back on track, so we expect to see some more stability with his position at the firm.

Megan lives in LA for the season, trying to make it as an actress, but both her career and marriage are stalled. After they try long-distance (and even have a threesome), they just can't make it work. In the last episode we saw, she and Don have an emotional conversation in which they sound like they're breaking up. Megan appears in the latest promo and pictures, though. Will they get back together?

Don is on the outs with pretty much everyone at the agency at the beginning of season seven, and things are particularly bad with Peggy. Though she tries to keep her distance, they grow close once again after they're assigned to the same team.

In the part-one finale, we lose one of the original characters, Bert Cooper, who passes away the same night as the moon landing. It throws the control of the agency into question and results in a sentimental song and dance for Don's benefit.

With Bert gone, Jim tries to oust Don once and for all, but Roger figures out a way to save the agency (and Don) by selling part of it and merging with McCann Erickson. This leaves Jim on the outs, while Ted tries to leave but is convinced to come back. And Pete has been in California, so when we come back for the second half of the season, it'll be interesting to see who's still standing.
