Director Baz Luhrmann has brought us The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge!, and Romeo + Juliet, but his latest project is something completely different. He's teaming up with Netflix to make an original series about the world of hip-hop in New York during the 1970s. The 13-episode show, set to debut in 2016, will revolve around a group of teens growing up in the South Bronx. Empire is currently making a splash dramatizing the hip-hop industry on primetime, and while this show will focus on the origins of the genre, it's clearly a world people want to know more about. Watch the teaser for the show below, and stay tuned for more details!
