Why Sia Apologized For Her "Elastic Heart" Video

Sia released an intense new music video this week, but not everybody is impressed. The video, for her song "Elastic Heart," features Shia LaBeouf and Maddie Ziegler from Dance Moms wearing nothing but beige underwear and dancing, wrestling, and battling in a large cage. As you might recall, Sia's music video for "Chandelier," which also starred Ziegler, quickly gained popularity last year, inspiring tons of emulations from Lena Dunham's interpretation on Late Night With Seth Meyers to that guy who performed it in Ikea. The new video is just as bizarre, but this time, some people are outraged that the video comes off as predatory. Sia herself has addressed the concerns in a series of tweets, listed below. Watch it and decide for yourself, and then don't forget to marvel at the scores of songs that were secretly written by Sia.

I anticipated some 'pedophelia!!!' Cries for this video. All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play

These two warring 'sia' self states.

I apologize to those who feel triggered by #ElasticHeart My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody.
