I already know Timothée Chalamet is a king, but now he's playing a real one in a movie called The King. The 23-year-old actor revealed the edgy poster for the upcoming movie, in which he plays Henry V as he ascends the throne following his father's death. Written by Australian film director David Michod and Joel Edgerton (who also wrote Boy Erased), The King is based on William Shakespeare's Henriad, or a group of Shakespeare's history plays that encompasses Richard II, Henry IV, Part 1, Henry IV, Part 2, and Henry V. The movie also stars Robert Pattinson and Lily-Rose Depp, who sparked dating rumors with Chalamet last Fall.
Chalamet is sporting a bowl cut, a pinky ring, armor, and all kinds of powerful young king vibes on the movie poster, and hardcore Chalamet fans can't keep it together. The King will soon premiere at the 2019 Venice Film Festival on Sept. 2 before hitting select theaters and Netflix, but the streaming service hasn't shared a release date yet. Later this year, we'll see Chalamet on screen alongside his Lady Bird costar Saoirse Ronan in Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated Little Women. A true king indeed.
