11 Reasons Logan Has Always Been the Best Guy For Rory Gilmore

When Rory meets Logan, she's not sure that she even likes him. His confidence borders on cockiness, and she's never gravitated toward rich jerks before. But there's something about him that draws her in: his sense of adventure. Whether she wants to admit it or not, she's sick of playing it safe, and Logan helps her get outside her box.

Logan likes Rory so much that he even avoids dating her, for fear that he'll hurt her. While he's dated around before, Rory is the first girl that Logan connects with on a deep level; he respects her commitment to school, her enthusiasm for the Yale Daily News, and her strong moral compass.

There's no denying that out of all the guys who date Rory, Logan is the one who can keep up without even trying. Sure, they have sizzling physical chemistry, but the way Logan can banter with Rory (and Lorelai, queen of quick talking) is unparalleled. You don't find a guy like that often.

Logan is so into Rory that he puts aside his playboy ways and commits to their relationship. They have a hiccup after a big fight and Logan sleeps with his sister's friend, but come on, he thought they had broken up! When he's in with Rory, he's all in.

Rory longs to be a world-class journalist and Logan just happens to be the heir to a newspaper empire, but even looking past the obvious, these two share so much. Jess could name literary figures with the best of them, but Logan gets nearly every reference Rory throws at him, and he ups the ante.

The boy has manners for days. Aside from being a perfect gentleman with Rory (possible cheating scandal aside), he's so kind and thoughtful. Remember the time he rents her an entire coffee cart for the day? Or when he lets her use his car service? And live rent-free in his pad while he's in London? He's essentially Christian Grey without the BDSM.

Aside from some early razzing from Richard and some ill will on Lorelai's part, Logan fits in with her family really well. (Logan's family, on the other hand, is a nightmare.) He and Richard are like two peas in very rich ponds, he eventually earns Lorelai's trust, and it's love at first sight for Emily.

To those who say Logan is self-centered, I firmly disagree. He's by Rory's side when Richard has a heart attack, willing and able to do anything she needs. He sees her through her hiatus from Yale free of judgment, and vice versa, Rory rushes to him when he gets in that gnarly accident in South America.

Logan goes through somewhat of an identity crisis during his relationship with Rory. He loses all his cash in a risky business investment and he turns into kind of a jerk for a while. But he pulls himself out of it, with Rory's help. He learns to lean on her, and she helps him grow to take life more seriously.

While Lorelai might have a chip on her should when it comes to people with money, I sure don't. The truth is, by the time Gilmore Girls ends, being rich isn't Logan's identity anymore. He's not the young, rich playboy. He's getting a job on his own merits and going after what he really wants.

By "going after what he really wants," I'm referring to Rory. He asks for her hand in front of her friends and family, and she turns him down. While she is making the right choice for her at the moment (can you feel me glaring?), it doesn't mean that they don't have a future together. Please see all the reasons I've listed above for proof.

Sigh. We'll always have this magical Life and Death Brigade moment.
