Bridgerton: Who Is Carole Prentice?
How "Bridgerton" Honored Crew Member Carole Prentice in the Finale Episode
As the second season of "Bridgerton" drew to a close, we got a lot of answers to questions brought up during the season: Who does Anthony end up with? Does Eleanor figure out who Lady Whistledown is? What will happen to Kate Sharma? But with those answers, we got one final question: who is Carole Prentice? Before the credits rolled on the finale episode, a message on the screen read, "In memory of Carole Prentice." It was the second dedication of the season, after the first episode was dedicated to hairstylist and makeup artist Marc Pilcher. Here's why Netflix dedicated an episode to Prentice.
Who Is Carole Prentice?
Prentice was a life coach and producer who worked in the TV and film industry for years, according to Metro. She spent much of her life moving around, spending time in South Africa, Dubai, and England.
On "Bridgerton" specifically, Prentice worked as a COVID-19 coordinator. Her son, Sebastian Prentice, told Metro that she was a huge fan of the show before landing this job and was excited to get the opportunity to work for Netflix. "It was really amazing to see how much of a closely knit friendship group she had established in such a short time there," Sebastian said of his mother's time working on the show. "But she loved it."
What Happened to Carole Prentice?
Sebastian shared with Metro that his mother died suddenly due to complications from surgery in January. He said her death was a shock and that she was "very full of energy and full of life up until she passed away." A memorial service was held in her honor following her death, which was attended by some of the "Bridgerton" crew whose lives she impacted while working together. Sebastian shared a moving montage of photos and footage with his mother on Instagram the week of "Bridgerton" season two's premiere.
Sebastian said he was told by the "Bridgerton" team that his mother would be memorialized in the show, but didn't know what they had planned. When he saw her name on the screen, he was overcome with emotion. "I was so happy to see that," he told Metro. "I shouted. I was so proud. She really deserved that, you know? Someone who poured her heart and soul into it. She really did deserve that recognition. I was overjoyed, I was so so happy to see that."
