During their appearance on The Late Late Show, BTS celebrated their Grammy nomination for best pop duo/group performance for "Butter." They also allowed Corden to beg for forgiveness from The Army after his controversial comments in September. In case you missed it, the talk show host was given the nickname Papa Mochi during an episode of carpool karaoke in Feb. 2020. However, fans called for him to remove the nickname from his Twitter account after he made a joke during an episode about BTS performing "Permission to Dance" at the United Nations General Assembly.
"Although lots of people are saying why are BTS there, the world leaders have no choice but to take BTS seriously. BTS has one of the largest ARMY on the planet earth. Historic moment. It actually marks the first time that 15-year-old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary-General António Guterres," he joked. On Tuesday, Corden did some groveling in an extended clip from The Late Late Show to make up for the scandal. Watch BTS take a poll on whether or not they forgive the talk show host!
