Euphoria Season 2 Features a Game of Thrones Easter Egg

Did You Catch That Game of Thrones Easter Egg on Euphoria?

Euphoria isn't holding back this season. The first two episodes of season two have been packed with drama, from Rue (Zendaya) relapsing to Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Maddy (Alexa Demie), and Nate's (Jacob Elordi) complicated love triangle and Nate's brutal beatdown from Fezco (Angus Cloud). But did you happen to catch the Game of Thrones Easter egg in the latest episode?

As Kat (Barbie Ferreira) and Ethan (Austin Abrams) are making out in her room, we see Kat fantasize about her ideal relationship, which is a lot more intense than her romance with Ethan. When Ethan goes into her bathroom, blood starts gushing out of his chest and he falls to the floor. A shirtless, muscular man then appears on screen and comes in to swoop Kat off her feet. Turns out, that muscular man is a nod to Jason Momoa's Game of Thrones character, Khal Drogo — specifically, his scenes with Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Targaryen.

"Sam's (Levinson) got a brilliant mind for compositing different ideas, like this visual pun with Game of Thrones, that you think have absolutely nothing to do with one another, yet when they enter his brain, they recombine and get spit out in the most elaborate and strange and exciting, unique ways," Julio Perez, Euphoria supervising editor and coproducer, explains in the video above.

Euphoria meets Game of Thrones — who would have thought? We'll definitely keep our eyes peeled for more Easter eggs in the upcoming episodes.
