The breakout star of Emma is set to play a younger version of Charlize Theron's Furiosa. We don't know a ton about what the storyline will be, only that it will reveal some of the backstory of Furiosa, before she became the character we know and love. Taylor-Joy has had a pretty diverse resume in recent years: she's been in period pieces like The Miniaturist and The Queen's Gambit, the sci-fi thrillers Split and Glass, and is currently working on the revenge drama The Northman with Alexander Skarsgård .

Hemsworth's role in the upcoming prequel is still unknown, but he's obviously no stranger to action movies. After a small role in the 2009 Star Trek reboot, he of course became world famous for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; he's set to reprise that role for the upcoming Thor: Love & Thunder.

Fresh off his Emmy win for playing Doctor Manhattan on HBO's Watchmen, Abdul-Mateen is joining the Furiosa cast in a still-undisclosed role. His star has steadily been on the rise these past few years. After a minor role in The Greatest Showman, he appeared as the villainous Black Manta in Aquaman and in Jordan Peele's Us. His next collaboration with Peele, the horror remake Candyman, is set to be released in 2021.
