Kelly Clarkson Covers Harry Styles's "As It Was" on the First Night of Her Las Vegas Residency
Kelly Clarkson has always had a knack for delivering incredible covers. She first shared her talent with the world on "American Idol" back in 2002, and over 20 years later, she continues to shine on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," delivering memorable renditions of everything from Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" to Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" — she's even covered Rihanna's saucy "B*tch Better Have My Money."
Of course, Clarkson has her own selection of beloved original music. Her latest album, "Chemistry," dropped on June 23, and on July 28, she kicked off a 10-night residency called "Chemistry: An Intimate Night With Kelly Clarkson" in Las Vegas. During her first show, in addition to performing many of her own hits and new songs, she also graced the audience with an upbeat cover of Harry Styles's "As It Was."
Over the years, Clarkson has also continued to breathe new life into her older hits, collaborating with Smith on a powerful rendition of "Breakaway" back in October 2022. She's also served as a host on "The Voice," most recently appearing on season 23 in the spring of 2022 alongside Chance the Rapper, Niall Horan, and Blake Shelton in his final season on the show.
But out of all her many talents, there's something so special and unique about a Clarkson cover, which is why we've rounded up a selection of just a few of the times Clarkson sang another pop star's song . . . and totally killed it. Scroll through to listen to them all now.
