They continued to put out new music and tour until around 2008; frontman Darius Rucker announced in an interview that he and his band members were taking a hiatus so that he could pursue his solo career as a country singer. They still get together for charity performances, and Rucker has built a successful country-music career, even becoming the first African American to win the CMA award for new artist of the year.
