11 New Shows to Get Addicted to This Summer

There are a ton of shows returning to TV this Summer, but if you're in the mood for something new, we've got you covered. A few shows have already started, but it's not too late to jump on the bandwagon. Let The Astronaut Wives Club transport you back to the '60s when it premieres this Thursday, or hit up Camp Firewood with Netflix's Wet Hot American Summer reboot. HBO is debuting two new comedies on Sunday, June 21 — one with the incomparable Dwayne Johnson — and MTV is bringing Scream to the small screen. Wayward Pines

When it's on: Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox

Matt Dillon stars as a federal agent who finds himself trapped in a mysterious town with no way out. Carla Gugino, Shannyn Sossamon, and Toby Jones costar in the mind-bending drama.

The Whispers

When it's on: Mondays at 10 p.m. on ABC

Lily Rabe is taking a break from American Horror Story for The Whispers, a similarly creepy (but not as twisted) series. Rabe plays an FBI specialist who stumbles upon a mysterious force that is manipulating children with a dangerous "game."

UnREAL

When it's on: Mondays at 10 p.m. on Lifetime

If you're a fan of reality romance shows like The Bachelor, you might love this Lifetime series about the producers (Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer) of a dating competition series.

Sense8

When it's on: Anytime on Netflix

Andy and Lana Wachowski are behind this Netflix series, which finds a group of people from across the globe suddenly mentally linked.

The Astronaut Wives Club

When it premieres: Thursday, June 18, at 8 p.m. on ABC

Based on the book by Lily Koppel, this new series revolves around the young spouses of some of America's first astronauts. Prepare for drama, enviable fashion, and retro references.

Ballers

When it premieres: Sunday, June 21, at 10 p.m. on HBO

Dwayne Johnson is pretty busy these days, but he's managed to squeeze in filming an entire HBO series. He plays a retired athlete who now serves as a financial adviser to professional football players. With all the beautiful people, cars, and scenery, it's basically the new Entourage.

The Brink

When it premieres: Sunday, June 21, at 10:30 p.m. on HBO

Jack Black and Tim Robbins star in this oddball comedy about the government struggling to prevent a new world war.

Humans

When it premieres: Sunday, June 28, at 9 p.m. on AMC

Based on a Swedish series, AMC's new sci-fi show takes place in a parallel world where the new must-have appliance is a "Synth," a highly developed robot.

Zoo

When it premieres: Tuesday, June 30, on CBS

James Wolk (The Crazy Ones) is starring in this adaptation of James Patterson's bestseller about a sudden wave of animal attacks.

Scream

When it premieres: Tuesday, June 30, at 10 p.m. on MTV

If you love the 1996 horror hit, you're either going to savor every minute of this TV reboot or avoid it like the plague. MTV enlisted some of its biggest stars for a promo, and we have to admit: we're on board.
