POPSUGAR: When did you find out what Parrish is?
Ryan Kelley: I know what I am. I'd been asking Jeff [Davis] for a while — all of season four, I'd been bugging him, and he wouldn't tell me. Then at the end of season four, he started being like, "You want to know?" And I was kind of like, now I don't want to know because I get asked all the time and I don't want to have to lie. I used to be able to be like, "That's a cool theory, maybe that makes sense, but I don't think so because of this." Now I can't do that. Now I can just smile and be like, "I don't know, just hang in there . . . "
PS: What can fans expect this season?
RK: This is really Parrish's coming-out season, because you find out what he is, and you find out more of his role in Beacon Hills.
PS: Is it fun theorizing with all the fans?
RK: It was when I didn't know. Some of them, they definitely know more stuff than me. They'll say a fact, and I'll be like, "That happened?" And they're like, "In episode blah blah blah, it happened." And I'm like, "Oh OK, yeah, well I guess that makes sense then."
PS: If you could pick a creature to be, which one would you pick?
RK: Of the creatures that are on the show right now, if I could pick a creature . . . good question. [Laughs.] I mean, I'd have to be an alpha werewolf, you know, just to be a boss. Number one.
