Aziz Ansari is executive producing and starring in the 10-episode comedy series, playing Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York. According to the funny press release, "Dev's story takes him through subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner." There are similarities to Ansari, himself a 30-something actor living in New York City, but Ansari says that Dev isn't exactly him. Even the fact that Dev is an actor is just out of convenience: "it’s just the world we knew well," Ansari said.
