If you inherit a house that was once an insane asylum, get rid of it as fast as possible. At least, that's the message from 1974's Silent Night, Bloody Night. The movie follows an ax murderer who goes on a spree on Christmas Eve. While Jeffrey (James Patterson) and the mayor's daughter Diane (Mary Woronov) are trying to get to the bottom of mysterious events in the house, they trace everything back to the original owner — Jeffrey's grandfather — who has a mysterious story of his own. Though he supposedly died and left the house to Jeffrey, there might be more disturbing details for Jeffrey and Diane to uncover, all while trying to make it out alive.
