Almost every family has at least one person who's a little obsessed with Barbra Streisand. After watching The Way We Were, it'll probably be you. In this 1973 romantic drama, Streisand plays Katie Morosky, an outspoken activist with a ton of opinions who falls in love with easygoing pretty boy Hubbell Gardiner (Robert Redford). Their relationship has its ups and downs, but Katie follows Hubbell to Los Angeles, where he pursues a screenwriting career. As Hollywood changes them, they begin to wonder if growing up also means growing apart.
It's a classic love story, but (spoilers!) don't forget that it's called The Way We Were . . . not The Way We Are. You may want to keep tissues nearby for this one.
