Where You've Seen the Gorgeous Cast of Riverdale Before

If you're like us, your latest obsession lies in Riverdale, The CW's reimagining of the beloved Archie comics. Riverdale combines three things that made shows like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars major fanfare: love triangles, a murder (at least one for now), and a really, really good-looking cast.

And like many teen thrillers that have come before it, much of the cast was plucked out of obscurity. While some of the actors had a few credits to their name, many of them are getting their big break on the show — at least, that's the case with most of the students; you'll most definitely recognize the parents on this series, as almost all of them are TV veterans.

K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews

Before he became the (faux) auburn-haired protagonist of Riverdale, 19-year-old K.J. Apa appeared in Shortland Street, a New Zealand soap opera that takes place in a hospital, as well as a short-lived, postapocalyptic show called The Cul-De-Sac. Most recently, he appeared in A Dog's Purpose.

Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper

Ohio-born Lili Reinhart has racked up several credits, including The Boys of Summer and the short-lived TV series Finding Jack.

Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge

As Camila mentioned on her Instagram, Riverdale is her first big break. Before this, she studied at NYU and received her bachelor of fine arts degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones

Cole Sprouse is arguably the most familiar face in the cast. Cole and his twin brother, Dylan, got their start in Hollywood as toddlers, appearing in commercials. One of the most notable roles the twins shared was Julian in Big Daddy, alongside Adam Sandler. Cole appeared on Friends as Ross's son, Ben, which he did not share with his brother.

The duo hit major mainstream success as the title roles of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody with Ashley Tisdale, and after the show ended, Cole and Dylan spent time being regular teenagers before heading off to college. They graduated from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study of NYU in 2015, where Cole focused on archaeology.

Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom

Madelaine Petsch is relatively new to Hollywood. She secured her first acting credit in 2015 as a featured extra in the movie The Hive.

Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy

Ashleigh Murray graduated from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in 2009 and has appeared in shows like Younger and The Following.

Casey Cott as Kevin Keller

Casey Cott, who plays Betty's gay best friend, is also a newcomer.

Sarah Habel as Geraldine Grundy

Before she was seducing Archie as Ms. Grundy, Sarah Habel was featured on shows like USA's Rush and MTV's Underemployed.

Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge

Marisol Nichols is a TV veteran, appearing in shows like Boy Meets World, Cold Case, Blind Justice, 24, and Teen Wolf.

Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper

Mädchen Amick is the TV queen, appearing in fan-favorite shows like the original Twin Peaks (and the 2017 revival), Good Christian B*tches, Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, ER, Gossip Girl, Californication, Witches of East End, and American Horror Story.

Luke Perry as Fred Andrews

God help you if you aren't familiar with Luke Perry. Luke, who plays Archie's father on the show, is best known for his role as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210. He's also appeared in shows like Body of Proof and Ties That Bind.

Shannon Purser as Ethel Muggs

Yeah, it's Barb. She's back from the Upside Down. The Stranger Things actress is currently filming the lead role in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and recently wrapped a film, Life of the Party, with Melissa McCarthy and Julie Bowen.
