10 Shows to Watch If You Like Fixer Upper

Chip and Joanna Gaines have arguably the most popular home improvement show on television with Fixer Upper. Why? Because of their winsome personalities, adorable family, and amazing rehab projects. The Texas couple work with home buyers to find a house with good bones that just needs some TLC (sometimes a lot of TLC) and turn it into the buyers' dream home.

But viewers also get peeks into the Gaines's life outside of work — their four adorable children (Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emme), their other Magnolia businesses, which include a bakery and a home store, and their lovely homestead, complete with lots of farm animals.

If you've fallen in love with the Gaines family, here are 10 other shows you definitely want to set your DVR for.

01
Almost Home
HGTV

Almost Home

The Marrs family is the latest addition to HGTV's stable of home improvers. Couple Dave and Jenny are rehabbing homes in Bentonville, AK, while also raising four beautiful children and dozens of farm animals. With Fixer Upper ending, Almost Home is here to fill that hole in your TV schedule.

02
The Flip or Flop Franchise
HGTV

The Flip or Flop Franchise

The OG Flip or Flop has had some ups and downs this past year with its stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa filing for divorce. But its new season premieres this December if they're still your favorite Flip or Flop couple.

However, if you're looking for a little more than the El Moussas, HGTV has recently introduced five spin-offs: Atlanta, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Nashville, and Paradise, so pick your couple and let's get flipping.

03
Good Bones
HGTV

Good Bones

If your favorite part about Fixer Upper is Chip and Joanna's family, you should check out Good Bones, which is about a mother-daughter rehab team in Indianapolis. Mom Mina Starsiak is the real estate agent and daughter Karen Laine is the handywoman (though Mina isn't afraid to jump right in with some tools either).

04
Home Town
HGTV

Home Town

Home Town is our favorite new HGTV show, so if you haven't gotten on board the Ben and Erin Napier train . . . what are you waiting for? These two charmers are fixing up old homes in their hometown of Laurel, MS, but what makes it stand out is the Napiers' Southern charm and wonderful sense of humor.

05
Listed Sisters
HGTV

Listed Sisters

Listed Sisters stars twin sisters Lex and Alana LeBlanc renovating old homes in Nashville. They're both a lot of fun, they're both moms, and they both love to work hard and play hard.

06
Love It or List It
HGTV

Love It or List It

Perhaps the best chemistry on all of HGTV is between real estate agent David Visentin and designer Hilary Farr, who compete to "win" the buyers' choice — either love their current home, which Hilary has renovated, or list it and move into one of the new homes David has found for them — on Love It or List It. It's a lot of fun, anchored by the friendly competition between the two hosts.

The spin-offs, Love It or List It Too and Love It or List It UK, are also both pretty solid.

07
Property Brothers
HGTV

Property Brothers

Twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott have taken the tried-and-true formula of finding buyers' a fixer-upper property and rehabbing it and turned it into a sometimes-silly romp that is always entertaining. The Scott brothers are superfun together, and they always come up with the most interesting ideas.

08
Rehab Addict
HGTV

Rehab Addict

Originally a DIY Network show, Rehab Addict switched to HGTV's primetime line up in 2014. On it, the charming Nicole Curtis works to restore old homes to their former glory. She has worked in the Twin Cities in MN, Detroit, and Akron, OH. The renovations she does are out of this world.

09
Texas Flip and Move
DIY Network

Texas Flip and Move

This DIY Network gem features a variety of cast members and puts a twist on the rehab genre — the rehabbers are only buying the house, not the property underneath it. So once the house is purchased, they move the structure to a rehab facility, then later put it up for auction and must move it again, which adds an interesting element to the fixer-upper formula.

10
This Old House
Everett Collection

This Old House

An oldie but a goodie, this Emmy-winning PBS series has been running since 1979 and was originally hosted by home improvement guru Bob Vila. What makes it unique is that instead of wrapping up one renovation per episode, This Old House will focus on one house for several weeks. Sometimes one house is the focus of an entire season, but more often a season will feature two or three houses. Still, it's neat to watch a renovation take place at a slower place, which gives us more info on the hows, the how-tos, and the whys of fixing up an old house.
