15 References You Might Have Missed in Taylor Swift's "End Game" Music Video

If you look close enough, there is a black cat hanging out in the background of this shot. Swift famously has two cats named Olivia and Meredith, and has occasionally poked fun at being "a cat lady."

As one Tumblr user pointed out, the shining fireworks could be a reference to her song "Dear John" about John Mayer, where she says she's "shining like fireworks over your sad empty town." Perhaps she's alluding to how she's found love again with Alwyn.

A few eagle-eyed fans decoded some of the Japanese characters written on the signs during the Tokyo part of her video. Some phrases like "I wanna be your first string," and "A Team" reference the lyrics in her song, while others give another nod to her cats, Olivia and Meredith.

As Swift rides around on a motorcycle through Tokyo, she is spotted wearing a snake suit, poking fun at her infamous "reputation" for being a snake.

As Swift and her friends hang out in a bar, the camera quickly focuses on the music player which is on track 13, aka Swift's lucky number. There also appears to be a snake straw in one of the glasses.

As Swift sings along with her friend Ed Sheeran, she is spotted wearing a shirt with the letter A. Not only does this reference the lyrics in her song, but it's also a call to Sheeran's famous song "The A Team."

During the video, Swift casually sips a juice box that has the song's title, "End Game," written in Japanese.

One of the biggest references seems to be that Swift ends her globetrotting video in London, aka the hometown of her boyfriend.

During one of the scenes in London, Swift and her friends appear to be having a New Year's Eve party as they were top hats, drink Champagne, and bounce balloons around the room. This could be a reference to Swift's final song on her Reputation album, "New Year's Day," which is a love song about finding someone to spend your midnights with.

During the party, Swift gets up and makes a toast to her "big reputation," but it could have a double meaning. Seeing as she's surrounded by her best friends, this could be a reference to her song "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" about Kanye West, in which she sings "here's a toast to my real friends."

At one point in the video, Swift is seen playing the video game Snake, which is another reference to how people said she was "playing snake" during her infamous feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Not to mention, the screen also says End Game and she appears to be on level 13.

In one of her most casual outfits from the music video, Swift sports a bath robe and her silver necklace with Joe's initial that she's been wearing a lot during her Reputation era.

As one Tumblr user pointed out, the last scene in the video bares striking resemblance to a shot in the "Begin Again" music video from her Red album. While the latter showed Swift timidly crossing her hands, the "End Game" music video features a confident Swift throwing her arms in the air. Instead of beginning again with someone new, the singer has found someone to be her end game.

People were definitely curious when Swift was spotted filming her video at a kebab shop in London last year, but like everything the singer does, it has a special significance. The local shop is reportedly where Swift and Alwyn went on one of their first dates when they were laying low in London not long after getting together.

After her big party with friends, Swift is shown driving around London in the back of a taxi, which is yet another reference to her song "New Year's Day," in which she sings "squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi."
