Fans of the Cloverfield franchise were certifiably shook on Sunday night when Netflix dropped a brief trailer for The Cloverfield Paradox (originally titled God Particle) out of nowhere during the Super Bowl. The cast for the third installment in J.J. Abrams's sci-fi trilogy is pretty incredible, to say the least, so take a look at who helped Netflix pull off such a grand surprise before you stream it for yourself.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ava Hamilton
Gugu Mbatha-Raw is a Netflix veteran at this point. In addition to starring in its upcoming tear-jerker Irreplaceable You, the British actress also appeared in Black Mirror's critically acclaimed "San Junipero" episode. She also led the 2013 drama Belle, as well as 2014's romantic Beyond the Lights.

Daniel Brühl as Schmidt
Daniel Brühl has most notably appeared as Fredrick Zoller in Inglourious Basterds and as Zemo in Captain America: Civil War. Netflix isn't the only place to see him on your TV screen, however — Brühl currently has a starring role in TNT's serial killer drama The Alienist.

David Oyelowo as Commander Kiel
What can't David Oyelowo do? The Golden Globe-nominated actor rose to prominence by playing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 2014's Selma, and since then he's only diversified his résumé. He's done everything from play a chess coach in Queen of Katwe to voice Agent Kallus in Star Wars: Rebels, and most recently he took on the role of Javert in a Les Misérables miniseries.

Chris O'Dowd as Mundy
After charming audiences as Roy Trenneman in the Channel 4 comedy The IT Crowd, Irish actor and comedian Chris O'Dowd got his big break (in America, at least) in 2011's Bridesmaids as lovable police officer Rhodes (it's OK if you're still crushing — we certainly are). In 2017, he nabbed a role in the TV version of Get Shorty, as well as in Molly's Game alongside Jessica Chastain.

John Ortiz as Acosta
In Silver Linings Playbook John Ortiz played fan favorite Ronnie, and had a part in 2017's Kong: Skull Island. The Cloverfield Paradox isn't his first time, in a space thriller, either — he played Morales in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem in 2007.
