We're SO Close to the Season 15 Premiere of Grey's Anatomy! Here's Everything We Know

We got our first look at the season in mid-September when the one and only trailer dropped. Things are getting steamy.

Here's a doozy: the season premiere will be two hours long. Sounds to us like a lot of sh*t is going to go down, especially since some of the biggest episodes in Grey's history have been two-hour events.

In a recent interview, Camilla Luddington revealed that there won't be a huge time jump at the start of season 15. That means we'll be picking up shortly after the events of the season 14 finale: Alex and Jo's wedding (officiated by Meredith!) and Teddy's arrival back in Seattle.

There are plenty of cliffhangers that we need answers about — are Alex and Jo really leaving Seattle?! — but the biggest is perhaps what might happen between Amelia, Owen, and Teddy. After all, Amelia and Owen are living together, raising two kids together, and potentially falling in love again. And Teddy is pregnant with Owen's baby!

Here's the kicker, though: that sh*tstorm is not going to hit in the season premiere. Kevin McKidd recently revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Owen doesn't know about Teddy's pregnancy, not even in episode two! "It takes a minute for that news to be slammed on Owen," he said. "I think he's going to be a bit vapor-locked for a minute." That means we're going to see plenty of tension in the first episodes of the season as things heat up. Whew.

During our recent interview with Camilla Luddington, we learned that Alex and Jo leave promptly for their honeymoon after their sweet ferry nuptials. We don't know exactly where they go, but she revealed that they filmed in Santa Monica! Luddington said Jo will have an epiphany about the next phase of her life.

It's been quite a while since we first heard murmurs of Chris Carmack's "ortho god", and the preview shows that he's coming in the premiere. And right by his side is Grey Sloan's first gay male surgeon, Nico Kim! We can't wait to see how they shake up the scene.

Even though we (tragically) said goodbye to our beloved April and our sunshine Arizona, we have some other entries to look forward to — possibly as soon as episode one. We know what Teddy will hit the ground running from minute one, and don't forget that Meredith's dad will also be back.

When we recently spoke to Giacomo Gianniotti about Meredith and DeLuca's upcoming tryst, he laid out some pretty juicy details about the romance. "Now that we're back at work, the day after the wedding, he's like, 'Oh my god, I kissed Meredith Grey last night, and now I have to go work with her. This is crazy.' When we come back in the first episode, that's what he's dealing with," he explained. "There's the awkwardness of this elephant in the room, and because there is that elephant in the room, it causes them both to be self-conscious of that kiss." So, where does the romance come in, you ask? "An energy starts to build," Gianniotti said, "and we're playing out what that means right now."

Season 15 has been called the "Season of Love" by the show's higher ups, so we can expect a lot of romance right out of the gate. We of course have our newlyweds, plus the whole love triangle between Owen, Teddy, and Amelia. And even (allegedly) Meredith and DeLuca!

We've also caught wind of another new romance on the horizon: it seems the new gay surgeon will also have love on the brain once he settles in at the hospital. And all the stars are obsessed with the "supersweet" romance.

During a recent red carpet interview, Alex Blue Davis talked a bit about the premiere, noting we could expect some light-hearted laughs as we ease into the season. "It's funny. I really think it's really funny," he said. "We were laughing at the table read a lot. There's a lot happening."
