It then jumps ahead 300 years to Los Angeles 1973, where social worker Anna Tate-Garcia accidentally becomes La Llorona's next target. The film's only connection to the rest of The Conjuring Universe is "Annabelle"'s Father Perez, who Anna asks for help with vanquishing the spirit.
