The American Music Awards just got even more exciting! On Tuesday, Taylor Swift announced that she is opening the award show with a special performance of "I Did Something Bad." While her cat Meredith didn't seem too impressed with the news, Swifties on the other hand couldn't contain their cool as they reacted on Twitter.

Not only is Swift up for a handful of awards, including artist of the year, favorite female artist, and favorite tour of the year, but it will also mark her first AMAs performance in three years. The last time she performed at the AMAs was in 2014, when she sang "Blank Space" from her 1989 album. Needless to say, we are so . . . ready for this performance. See some of the best reactions to the surprise announcement ahead before the show airs on Oct. 9.
