Fran Drescher Wants Cardi B to Star in the Nanny Reboot, and I Dare You to Name a Better Duo

Fran Drescher wants to party with Cardi. The actress recently talked about a possible revival of The Nanny and mentioned that if the '90s sitcom were to be rebooted, she'd want Cardi B to star. "Wouldn't she be great as my daughter?" she said in an interview with People. Maybe I'm wrong, but Drescher might be onto something here.

The inspiration behind her genius idea came from one of Cardi B's more recent Instagram posts. Last month during Milan Fashion Week, the rapper stepped out wearing leopard print from head to toe and shouted Fran out in her photo's caption. When asked about Cardi's homage, Drescher told People she was "so flattered."

"I just thought she paid homage to me wearing animal print and said 'Fran Drescher,'" she said. "And then I got my juices flowing and thought, 'Wait a minute, she's from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!" Later, in an interview with Extra, Drescher confirmed that she's "talking to [Cardi's] representation." Delighted at the idea of the team-up coming to fruition, she added, "It's really getting me excited. It's fresh, and it could be super fun."

Luckily for Drescher, Twitter is already 12 steps ahead of her, as many users on the platform have been drawing comparisons between the two for months now. Scroll ahead to see how people have responded to the news so far.
