11 Shows That The Good Place Fans Will Forking Adore

Michael Schur's The Good Place is one of the best shows on television right now. It somehow blends fart jokes with heavy discussions about human existence, all the while providing us with mystery and romance. It's reminding us of how much we freakin' love Ted Danson and Kristen Bell and introducing us to comedy gems such as Manny Jacinto and D'Arcy Carden.

You don't need a Janet to figure out which show to watch after you're all caught up with The Good Place, though. From Brooklyn Nine-Nine to Santa Clarita Diet, here are 11 series that you can binge after you're ready to move on from Chidi's lessons!

Angie Tribeca

Angie Tribeca

Steve Carell hasn't only been making dramas (The Big Short) and children's movies (Despicable Me) after leaving The Office. Along with his wife, he also created the quirky police procedural Angie Tribeca, which stars the lovely Rashida Jones as the tough but also really funny titular character. With a quirky comedic twist, the show takes on cases such as baker suicides.

02
Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Like The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a classic Michael Schur series full of heart and humor. The show focuses on the shenanigans of Brooklyn's 99th precinct, which busts crimes as much as it stirs up pranks. It's hard not to love Andy Samberg's laid-back Jake Peralta, Terry Crews's sensitive and responsible Terry Jeffords, and Chelsea Peretti's sarcastic, social-media-obsessed Gina Linetti.

03
Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars

Before cracking us up as Eleanor Shellstrop, Kristen Bell captivated her "marshmallow" fans as teen detective Veronica Mars. The show is a bit darker and twistier than The Good Place, but there are plenty of jokes and pop culture references in it to give you a tickle. Also, Veronica solves mysteries, although they're not of the metaphysical kind.

04
Parks and Recreation
NBC

Parks and Recreation

Right before diving into The Good Place, showrunner Michael Schur was just wrapping up Parks and Recreation. The series revolves around the adventures (and often misadventures) of one ambitious do-gooder named Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), who leads her friends and coworkers at Pawnee's office of Parks and Recreation. It's hard to forget characters as lovable as deadpan April Ludgate, gruff Ron Swanson, or upbeat Chris Traeger.

05
Cheers

Cheers

Ted Danson wasn't always an architect demon. He's one of Hollywood's biggest comedy stars and best known for his work on Cheers as the charismatic Sam Malone, a former baseball player who owns the titular bar. Taking place mostly at a bar, the show doesn't have the wild and colorful set design of The Good Place, but it's still hilarious and full of, well, cheer.

Community

Community

Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) finds out that he has become disbarred after lying about his undergraduate education. He enlists at a community college to get a real degree, eventually forming a study group to get the attention of a pretty student named Britta (Gillian Jacobs). Similar to The Good Place, Community will give you your fix of goofy humor and interesting, vibrant characters.

Santa Clarita Diet

Drew Barrymore takes on comedy horror in the web series Santa Clarita Diet, in which she plays a realtor and mother who develops a craving for flesh. The show shares the magical quality of The Good Place, as well as its emphasis on personal relationships and humor.

08
Jane the Virgin

Jane the Virgin

Funny and cheerful, Jane the Virgin revolves around the life of Jane Villanueva, a virgin who finds herself pregnant after a medical slip-up. Borrowing from telenovela tropes, the series uses snappy dialogue and bright colors that are reminiscent of The Good Place.

09
Forever

Forever

Your SNL favorites Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph play a complacent couple in Amazon's afterlife comedy, Forever. They reunite after passing away but soon discover that their marriage is still on the rocks even after death. It's a little bit more melancholy than The Good Place, but you're bound to get some silly laughs while watching it.

10
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Everett Collection

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is light and silly most of the time, brought to life with gags, pranks, and an aggressively cheerful main performance from star Ellie Kemper. Besides a bright and colorful set, the series also shares with The Good Place a flair for delicately probing into darker, more difficult themes. Although she's bright and optimistic, Kimmy also has to deal with the trauma of being held in a bunker most of her life.

11
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Everett Collection

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Struggling with depression and anxiety, Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) is a successful New York City lawyer who follows her first love, Josh, from summer camp to California. Hilarity ensues, of course, including some pretty hilarious musical fantasies. It's a hair darker and more romantic than The Good Place, but you'll definitely get your comedy fix with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
