It's expected to be tonally different from both Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, with the "musical dramedy" description suggesting it'll be lighter and more fun. Airing on The CW (the same network as Riverdale) opens up some exciting possibilities for the kind of crossover we haven't seen with Sabrina.
