Meet the Absurdly Talented Cast of HBO's Watchmen Series

Who watches the watchmen? Well, pretty soon, it's going to be anyone with an HBO subscription. In case you haven't already heard, the premium cable network is about to treat DC fans with a modern-day revamp of Watchmen, Alan Moore's beloved classic graphic novel. The details surrounding the new series may be scant at the moment, but we do know that there will be a lineup of mostly new characters.

HBO won't be skimping on the acting talent to bring this vision to life either; gracing the small screen will be a group of A-listers such as Regina King and Tim Blake Nelson, both of whom are in recent pop culture memory for, respectively, their Oscar-nominated performances in If Beale Street Could Talk and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, respectively. English actor Tom Mison will play a main role in HBO's Watchmen, though the details about his character are still under wraps. TV viewers might know him as Ichabod Crane on Fox's adaption of Sleepy Hollow.

A seasoned and well-loved actress who's been making waves in Hollywood for decades, Regina King has been a major award season contender for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk and Netflix's Seven Seconds. She'll be playing an officer named Angela Abar on Watchmen.

Adelaide Clemens will play Pirate Jenny, who is said to be an androgynous and lustful bisexual cop. The Australian actress has secured main roles in a few prestigious TV series such as Rectify and Parade's End, the latter alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.

Andrew Howard will be taking on Red Scare, who's rumored to be a tracksuit-wearing cop who speaks with a Russian accent. It won't be his first time on a superhero project — the actor is known for his role as Luther Banks on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He currently plays Marshal Withers on Outpost and has had recurring parts on other shows such as Bates Motel and Agent X.

Louis Gossett Jr. has had a long, thriving career that spans over 5 decades. He's known for his landmark Oscar-winning part in the 1982 film An Officer and a Gentleman and for his work on Roots. He'll be playing a former police officer called Old Man on Watchmen.

He has been in prestigious critical dramas such as Reversal of Fortune and The French Lieutenant's Woman, as well as blockbusters such as Justice League and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (he's Alfred). You'll see him as Adrian Veidt, or Ozymandias, who's actually an original character from the Alan Moore graphic novel.

Frances Fisher has had an extensive filmography over the years, and is perhaps most recognizable as playing Rose's mother in Titanic and Lucille Langston on Resurrection. We still don't know much about her character, but she'll also be starring in ten episodes in the upcoming series.

His character in Watchmen is Looking Glass, who he apparently doesn't really understand and has compared to a "fresco painting." Sounds a little bit like Rorschach, no?
