Can You Spot Any Clues in the New Photos and Posters For Stranger Things Season 3?

Are you ready for Stranger Things season three? I hope so, because the exciting new trailer, official character posters, and images from the 1985-set season, which drops on July 4, are pretty freakin' wild. All our fan favorites are back in action — with the addition of a couple of new faces — and according to the new posters, this Summer is going to change everything.

Eleven with more hair than we've ever seen her? Check. A pulsating, roaring new monster? Check. A shiny new mall that is definitely far more sinister than anyone in Hawkins realizes? Well, obviously. With school out and Summer in full swing, we're going to see a completely different side to Hawkins. Check out the first photos from season three — as well as what they might mean — and the "explosive" character portraits and posters ahead!

So when Stranger Things dropped an '80s-tastic teaser for the new season way back in July 2018, it left many fans scratching their heads. The 90-second teaser doesn't bother answering any lingering questions from season two; instead, it introduces a new shopping mall for the town of Hawkins, which is where Steve now works at a nautical-themed ice cream shop. (We much prefer him in babysitter mode, but looks like his friendship with Dustin is still going strong!)

Both the trailer and this photo show a glimpse of actress Maya Hawke, who plays a new character named Robin who happens to work with Steve. Netflix's previously released description of the character mentioned that "she seeks excitement in her life and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins, IN," so we can only imagine what the two of them will get up to.

Netflix

Joyce and Hopper seem like they're going to grow even closer in season three, with the police chief seemingly telling her in the trailer that he wants Hawkins to feel like "a safe place" for her to stay and live. Do we smell a romance brewing?

Netflix

It looks like Eleven is going to do some serious damage whilst wearing a scrunchie, which is already iconic if you ask me.

Netflix

Remember Lucas's sister, Erica? The gang puts her to work by having her crawl through some vents . . . somewhere. If I had to guess, I'd say she's investigating whatever weird occurrences are going down at the new mall.

Netflix

Dustin gets back from science camp ready to build a satellite of sorts up on a hill in town, but not everyone seems to be as enthused as he is. We can bet whatever he creates will end up coming in handy, though.

Netflix

He's welcomed home from Summer camp by a bunch of "robots," FYI.

Netflix

Max's abusive older brother, Billy, has gotten a job as a lifeguard at the Hawkins public pool. Clearly he's going to use his new position to flirt with his fair share of ladies, which is probably good since the trailer shows a glimpse of him with a gross, growing infection on his arm that makes us thing his time is running out. Enjoy life while you can, Billy.

Netflix

What could the gang be discussing in this powwow? We wonder . . .

Netflix

Looks like the group is trying to track something, which will likely lead them to that hospital photo earlier (notice they're all wearing the same outfits, and Dustin is missing from both images).

Netflix

Eleven? Carefree? SAY WHAT NOW?

Netflix

Note: Dustin is still missing from the group, so it seems like a major wedge will form between them. Also, Eleven appears to be using the blindfold to dull her senses just like the sensory deprivation pool — where is she going in her mind?

Netflix

Hmm, are Nancy and Jonathan still together?

Netflix

Shirtless Billy. Again.

Netflix

Whose eyes could Hopper be staring into?

Netflix

Joyce's eyes! Duh.

Netflix

Dustin and Steve are plotting.

Netflix

See? Plotting.

Netflix

Aw, Eleven and Mike will still be super cute in season three.

Netflix

The guys look like they're having a pretty low-key Summer. (Not for long!)

Netflix

Meet the new Mayor of Hawkins!

Netflix

Dustin looks like he's doing well, no?

Netflix

Dustin's pet project on a hill in Hawkins has to be important.
