Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, and All the Other Big Stars in Black Mirror Season 5

Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Endgame) stars in the season's first episode, "Striking Vipers." Danny finds himself in a rut in his unfulfilling marriage, and soon finds an outlet for his frustrations in a video game he plays with his friend, Karl.

Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II appears alongside Mackie in "Striking Vipers" as Karl, his close friend from college. They reunite later in life and find themselves drawn together by a lifelike video game.

Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow) plays the wife of Mackie's character, who soon comes to suspect that something is deeply wrong with their marriage.

Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame) faces off against an opponent inside a Mortal Kombat-style video game called Striking Vipers in the season's first episode. She serves as the onscreen alter-ego of Danny's close friend, Karl.

The man Klementieff's character goes toe-to-toe with is played by Ludi Lin, who you might know from Power Rangers and Aquaman. They have some epic fights (which are technically between Danny and Karl) that lead to . . . well, we won't ruin it for you.

After playing a villain slightly off his rocker in Sherlock and the hot priest in season two of Fleabag, Andrew Scott has taken on yet another strong-willed character. In "Smithereens," he takes an employee of a Twitter-like company hostage after a tragic accident, resulting in an intense police stand-off.

Snowfall star Damson Idris plays the hostage taken by Scott's character, finding himself trapped in a dangerous situation.

Topher Grace's role as tech icon Billy Bauer is essentially a cameo, as he doesn't come into the story until the end of the episode. Still, it's worth sticking around to see how he's involved in the story.

Real-life pop star Miley Cyrus returns to her acting roots with a meta role in Black Mirror's fifth season. She plays a creatively frustrated pop star longing to break out of the box her manager (who's also her aunt) has trapped her in, which leads to a nail-biting confrontation.

Angourie Rice, who you might've seen playing Betty in Spider-Man: Homecoming, appears as the young high school outcast who finds solace in a doll that has Ashley O's personality through highly advanced artificial intelligence. Her obsession with the singer intersects with the real Ashley O in unexpected ways.

Sharp Objects actress Madison Davenport costars with Rice as Rachel's sister, Jack, who ends up sucked into a riveting adventure involving Ashely O.
