Zendaya Takes Home SeeHer Award at Critics' Choice Awards: "I Am Incredibly Grateful"

During the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday, Zendaya was recognized for her incredible achievements, on and off screen, as she became the latest recipient of the SeeHer award, which recognizes women who "push boundaries on changing stereotypes and acknowledge the importance of authentic portrayals of women across the entertainment landscape." After being presented with the award by her Malcolm & Marie costar John David Washington, the 24-year-old gave an eloquent speech about gratitude as she reflected on this past year.

"Continue to be grateful for every single moment, big and small."

"This means so much to me," she said, holding her award. "As I was thinking of things to say, the only real thing I can think of is gratitude. This word keeps coming to my mind, especially with the year that everyone has had. To continue to be grateful for every single moment, big and small. To be grateful for the people in our world and in life that make the work we do possible. To continue to make sure we hold onto our loved ones a little bit tighter, make sure we call them, acknowledge them, tell them we love them. And take in moments like this."

She then went on to thank "the incredible women" who have paved the way for her to be here. "Extremely grateful for those women," she added. She concluded her speech, adding, "This is very, very special. I am incredibly grateful for this moment."
