While Christopher Nolan explores the metaphysical in Inception, M. Night Shyamalan focuses on the supernatural in his thriller Split. Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy) suffers from dissociative identity disorder and lives with 23 personalities. He tries to keep these personalities suppressed with the help of his psychiatrist Dr. Karen Fletcher (Betty Buckley), but some of his alternate personalities cause chaos and distress, and lead him to abduct three teenage girls.
